The program begins at 9:30 am followed by lunch and ends with Mass at 1:00 pm.

The Church's social teaching is a rich treasure of wisdom about building a just society and living lives of holiness amidst the challenges of modern society. This session will focus on some of the fundamental principles of Catholic Social Teaching: human dignity, the common good, justice, solidarity with the poor and vulnerable and stewardship. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in reflective practice and discussion regarding these principles with a focus on  personal and social growth. 


Meet Our Speaker!

Dr. Matthew Kenney serves as Vice President, Ethics Integration and Education for Ascension.  He has served in the field of Catholic healthcare for more than 20 years. Dr. Kenney holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and humanities and a master’s degree in religious studies from Providence College and a Ph.D. in systematic theology and bioethics from the Center for Health Care Ethics at Duquesne University.  He lives in Puerto Rico with his wife, daughter and four rescue dogs.
