Directed Retreat for Priests Age 65+**
Aging With Grace
The Spirituality of Priests Growing Older, A Layman’s View
This retreat, exclusively for retired and about-to-retire priests, will focus on the opportunities Christians, including all Catholic priests and all Catholic laypeople, have before them as they to live out their vocations into their later years. Included in these opportunities are:
· Mentoring and role-modeling for next generation
· Renewing old friendships and making new ones
· Continuing to proclaim the Kingdom of God “on Earth as it already is in Heaven.”
The retreat will make use of a new book by Frank J. Cunningham titled Engaging the Gifts of Growing Older, published by ACTA Publications, copies of which will be available to all participants. There also will be plenty of private time for reflection, prayer, liturgy, and one-to-one conversations.
Greg Pierce, this year’s guest retreat master, was president for five years of the National Center for the Laity, has been involved in community organizing and social justice work for over 50 years, and continues as the publisher and editor of ACTA Publications in Chicago. He is the author of several books, including The Mass Is Never Ended, The World as It Should Be, Spiritualty @ Work, and Reveille for a New Generation.
Greg is a popular speaker who facilitates discussion around faith and vocation issues with humor, insight, and passion. He has been married for 39 years to Kathleen Augustine Pierce, a retired Catholic school teacher, and the couple has three young adult children in their mid-thirties. Greg works with many young adults between 20 - 40, mentoring them as they choose and pursue their careers and helping them learn to write persuasively and get their writing published.
All retreat fees are paid for by the Diocese of Orlando
