The Liturgy: A Priest's Perspective
At the center of our lives is the responsibility and privilege of celebrating the Eucharist with and for the People of God. Each of these Liturgies individually as well as cumulatively give us as priests a wealth of experience we may not have fully harvested. This retreat will be an opportunity for us to enrich one another by exploring and learning from our deeply personal encounters with God and our People in the Liturgies we celebrate. We will do so for the sake of our people, whom we serve, and for each of us as priest-celebrants so we all can enter more deeply into the Mystery that continually seeks to reveal more of Itself at each of our Liturgies.
Fr. Ray Chase has been a priest for 45 years and has celebrated Liturgies for:
- Children in residential care for severe emotional and behavioral problems
-For children and adults with intellectual disabilities
-For elders in residential care or rehabilitation
-For parishioners in a variety of parishes
-For a contemplative community of religious women
Presently he is Chaplain at Catholic Charities’ St. Elizabeth’s Nursing & Rehabilitation Center & Pastor of Historic St. Vincent de Paul Church in Baltimore, Maryland.
