Location: St. Francis Hall (for part of the program) and outside around the St. Francis Statue and Peace Poles (second part of the program).
Lady Poverty, a fraternity in the Order of the Secular Franciscans, is hosting a peace service for all nations and religions. In the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi and his pursuit for peace during the Crusades, prayers and pleas for peace will be shared in multiple languages. We will gather for prayer inside and then process outside to the statue of St. Francis and the Peace Poles that were dedicated last year. Snacks and refreshments will be provided at the end of the service. Families are welcome and encouraged to attend. Students from Catholic schools will be participating.
San Pedro is home to the Lady Poverty Fraternity, a Secular Order of Franciscans and they are organizing this event. The dedication prayer service will involve prayers and songs for peace, with a special focus on the current wars in Ukraine and the Middle East.
