+ My camper doesn't know anyone else coming to camp. What can I do to make sure my camper makes friends?
San Pedro Summer Camp is the best place to meet other people and develop life-long friendships! If your camper does not know anyone else going to camp, he/she is not the only one! Your camper will have plenty of opportunities to meet fellow campers through icebreaker games and family group introductions. We have a team of friendly camp counselors who will encourage and assist your camper in making new friends, as well. Before you know it, your camper will feel a part of the camp family!
+ My camper has a sibling/cousin/friend that would be a good buddy for them throughout the week. How can I request them to be grouped together?
At San Pedro, campers will be placed in small groups with campers of similar age-range and a few counselors. We call these small groups "Family Groups" and they tend to be some of our camper’s fondest memories! If you would like to request that your camper be placed with a particular person for the camp week, please let us know in the family group request form.
Please note: In order to create a good balance of familiar and new friends within our family groups, we can only accommodate requests of grouping up to 3 campers together.
+ How does my camper get a camp shirt?
Campers receive a camp shirt at the end of their camp week. The cost is included in your registration payment.
+ How do I drop something off for my camper during the week?
Please refrain from coming onto camp property (located on north side of San Pedro property) while your child is attending camp. If you need to drop something off for your camper, please bring it to the Administration Office (located on south side of San Pedro property). Our staff will ensure that it gets to your camper as soon as possible. Please have your camper’s name written on or attached to the item you are dropping off.
+ Can campers receive mail?
We do not distribute daily mail at camp, but we do distribute letters to campers on Thursday of the camp week. Please have any letters submitted by Wednesday morning to allow us enough time to sort and distribute the mail Thursday. For more information about why letters are distributed Thursday, download the parent packet and read the "For Parent Eyes Only" page. To send mail through USPS, please address to: Lisa Karpinski Attn: Camper’s name 2400 Dike Road Winter Park, FL 32792
+ I need to pick up my camper early, how do I set that up?
When you drop off your camper, inform a counselor of the time you will be picking up your camper. The counselor will arrange for your camper to be picked up at that time.
+ My camper left items at camp. Is there a lost and found?
Lost and found items are stored in the administration office. Items that are not claimed 2 weeks after the camp session will be donated.
+ What is the best way to contact camp staff during the camp week?
The best way to contact summer camp staff during the camp week is to call the Administration Office at 407-671-6322.
+ Where is the Administration Office?
The administration office is located on the South side of campus. When you enter through the main entrance, it is located on the right-hand side (across from the chapel). The building number is 95.

Camp Health and Wellness
+ How do you handle dietary needs?
If your camper has specific dietary needs, please contact our Camp Manager to ensure that your camper has the best camp experience possible. We are able to accommodate most dietary needs. If you would like to supplement the menu with your own food, you are welcome to do so! Connect with Lisa to set this up: lisa@sanpedrocenter.org
+ How do you administer medications to campers?
Parents input all medications being brought to camp in their health profiles in CampDoc, and this is reviewed at check-in by the nurse on duty. Throughout the week, our Camp Nurses will administer any medications to campers at the requested times. We also have a list of over the counter medications that we keep on hand to administer as needed. In CampDoc, parents are asked to select which of these OTC medications they are comfortable with our staff administering. Any staff member administering any type of medication will verify the camper's health profile for parent permissions prior to administering medication. Any medications administered are logged within your camper's profile in CampDoc.
Please note: We can only accept medication for campers in original containers with the prescription labels in tact. The label must match the intended dosage administered. We cannot vary from the prescribed amount on the medication label.
+ What precautions are you taking with COVID-19?
On May 26th, 2021, San Pedro Center updated it's COVID-19 policies and procedures based on guidance from Governor Ron DeSantis and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. You can view these policies on the Summer Camp Home Page.
+ Will campers and staff be required to wear a mask or face covering?
As of May 26th, 2021, San Pedro Summer Camp will not be requiring masks while outdoors, or while campers are in their assigned small group of 7-10 campers. Face masks will be required during indoor large group assemblies.
+ Will you be limiting group sizes?
Yes. We are limiting our family group sizes, building capacities, and overall number of campers per each camp week. This has been carefully assessed to make it easier to maintain safe distancing.
Camp Policies & Rules
+ What is the cell phone policy at camp?
Cell phones are not permitted at any day camps or elementary overnight camp. For middle school overnight and high school overnight camps, cell phones must be left in the bunk house. Campers are permitted to use their phones to call home during designated times. If a camper brings their phone out of the bunk house, is on their phone at the wrong time, or is utilizing their phone at the correct time but for something other than calling home, they will receive a warning. At the second warning, we will confiscate the phone and inform the parents.
+ My camper will not be bringing a cell phone to overnight camp. What do you advise?
Thank you! We love it when campers don't have phones with them, because it helps them to remain fully engaged in the camp experience. If your camper needs to call home, we will allow them to use a counselor phone during our designated times. If you need to reach your camper, call the main San Pedro number and we will have a counselor assist your camper in calling you back.
